Bungie has published its plans for post-release support of Marathon, outlining what players should expect over the next two seasons. The studio framed these updates as part of a regular cadence of content and systems additions following the game’s launch. Fans were given an overview of seasonal content, progression rules, and upcoming features designed to extend the title’s lifespan.
Progression in Marathon will be cyclical: player progress will be fully reset every three months. In the first season, Bungie will introduce a new area called Cryo Archive. Alongside this new zone, the developers are adding a ranked mode that includes a leaderboard to track competitive standings among players.
The second season will bring a nighttime variant of the Night Marsh location and introduce a system called The Cradle, which is intended to expand character customization options and give players more ways to personalize their experience.
Marathon is scheduled to launch on March 5 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The base edition is priced at $40. The game has been fully localized into Russian; however, it is not available through the Steam storefront for the Russian region and attempting to access it there produces the so-called "tapir" error.
