Dmitriy "Fishman" Polischuk reflects on the return of majors and The International, praises Copenhagen venue

Professional Dota 2 player Dmitriy Polischuk, better known by his nickname Fishman, shared his thoughts about the former tournament format that included three majors plus The International. The esports portal Metaratings.ru published his remarks on the subject.

Asked whether any tournament venue stood out to him and whether he would like to see the three-majors-plus-International system return, Fishman replied that he personally would like majors and The International to come back, but that he was indifferent to how the scene would be organized otherwise. He added that, as for memorable locations, Copenhagen at The International 2024 was especially memorable: "The Copenhagen location at The International 2024 was cool. The venue was top-notch."

In 2024 Polischuk finished tied for 5th–6th place at The International 2024, which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. At that event he competed as a member of the team Cloud9.

For context, the first official Dota 2 Major tournament took place in Germany in 2015, while the most recent Major under the old system was held in Indonesia in 2023. Following the elimination of the DPC structure, Valve discontinued organizing those Major events.

Fishman’s comments reflect a view shared by some players who miss the clarity and prestige of the previous Majors-plus-International calendar, even as the competitive landscape continues to evolve without that specific structure.
