Model Lera Himera Recreates Neytiri from Avatar in Photo Series by Svetlana Bogacheva

Model known as Lera Himera produced a cosplay portraying Neytiri, a prominent character from the Avatar film franchise. The photographs of the shoot were published in the photographer Svetlana Bogacheva's group on the Russian social network VKontakte.

Neytiri is a member of the Na'vi, the indigenous humanoid species featured in Avatar. In the films she is presented as the daughter of the Omatikaya clan leader, a skilled warrior, and both the mentor and romantic partner of the series' protagonist, Jake Sully.

The Avatar franchise continued with its third installment released at the end of 2025. The film, titled "Avatar: Flame and Ash," premiered on December 19. The director, James Cameron, has indicated plans for at least two more installments in the series, though schedules and specific production details for those future films have not yet been disclosed.

Despite the very high production costs associated with the third movie, it did not match the commercial or cultural impact of the earlier entries in the franchise. Public reporting on the series notes that development of subsequent chapters is ongoing, with further announcements expected when production plans become firmer.

The photo session by Svetlana Bogacheva emphasizes the detailed makeup, body painting and costume work used to recreate Neytiri's distinctive Na'vi appearance. The images credit Lera Himera as the cosplayer and Bogacheva as the photographer; they were shared on Bogacheva's VKontakte page.

Fans of the franchise and of cosplay have responded to the images, noting the fidelity to the character's look and the skill visible in both the costume and the photography. The series of photos offers a text-based record of the creative reinterpretation of an iconic cinematic character.
